So it’s about 2am… we are in a motel just South of Nashville… Today we visited Shiloh… a particularly bloody and important site during the American Civil war…
it was something that David was particularily intersted in seeing. It was quite interested… we watched a short film before taking a self-guided tour of the battleground. The film was quite well done and really helped us to understand the finer points of the terrain we toured… it was an insane two day battle with huge losses on both sides.
Before that we had lunch at Borroum’s Drug Store and Soda Fountain -the oldest in Mississippi – Owned and operated by the same family since the end of Civil War.
I realize I’m really very behind on updates… hmmm… I think I will need to add some stories when I get back… there is too much going on while we’re on the road!
More soon… I hope… tomorrow is sort of a bit unkown… we don’t have a hotel booked yet for tomorrow night… and we are considering alternative plans… I’ll let you know what happens…
