littleLoo-coverSo I've been working on putting together a little book... (4¼ x 5½ " - 12 pages)...

A limited edition book of drawings and short musings on the subject of creativity...

I was listening to KT today... Kate Bush... evey now and then she calls me back and I must listen...
That music opened me up when I was a young man... and made me open to possibility... and open to “Other Ways” of doing things...
So... I was just listening to “Suspended in Gaffa” and looked for the video online...

I want to dance now... and dream... and float... Kate Bush fans will understand... Add a comment
So on Wednesday evening I went to see a screening of Séraphine (the 2008 French film about the artist Louis Seraphine - I enjoyed the film but left me wondering why people love to hear the stories of creative genius... (what’s the plural?) who live in obscurity... are manic... go crazy... and art dealers make a lot of money off... oh... I think I answered my own question...).
When I got home I realized... actually I'd been giving it thought earlier in the day but couldn't come up with a solution...
I realized that I was going to this business networking thing the next morning and that I didn't have any business cards (having disposed of all mine after our recent address and phone number change)...
a cute kitty looking through a telescope... awwww...So I thought... “hmmm... maybe I could do something creative about that problem”... I decided to make a limited edition business card with an illustration on it... (the idea is that I'll replace it with a different limited edition card when I have the notion)
Anyway, here's what I came up with... “awww... cute kitty...”

Saw “Where the Wild Things Are” yesterday... I loved it... i think... not a lot like the book but i think it was inspired by the book in a good way... I remember loving the book as a child... i remember it in the library at the school and reading it and re-reading it... I was a reserved... nervous child (though given to bouts of wild tantrumming)... i think i longed to be like Max... I also loved the drawings... i think i have always been pulled in to the sensuality and the expressiveness of line drawings and cross-hatching.... those little lines draw (:P) me in... they are like tiny little (teeny tiny... teeny weeny... itsy beetsy... hey I'm Roseanne Roseannadanna) artworks all on their own... then you move back and there is the actual drawing... and it's so wonderful when it's playful and imaginative... i loved those monsters... Maurice Sendak was a genius... Add a comment
